94 2.3 all new ignition parts...not starting

I replaced the ignition control mudule on my truck and in the process broke a wire on another harness...it is a 1 wire connection that is bundled with the lower connector for the ignition control module...Well I found it and spliced another wire into it and still no start. It has new plugs, coil packs, wires, injectors, iac valve, egr valve, alternator, and battery, fuel filter etc...The truck ran fine till I broke the wire, but now wont start. I get fuel and it cranks fine, but has no spark. What do I look for?

probably bad control module... even though you changed it.

Nah, Ive had 3 different ones hooked up...The broken wire was bare copper and inside the harness loom it is wrapped with aluminum tape, maybe a ground????

Heres a couple pix of the wire that broke. Anyone know what it is? Its bare copper until it gets to the black barrel thing...Also, there is another bare copper wire in the other pic which is where I thought it goes, but when I splice a wire into it, nothing.

you need to put the 3rd screw in the ignition control module. if you dont have all three screws in it wont fire. don't know about the broken wire.

-edit- looking again i can't tell if you have the ICM mounted at all or if it's just floating there. in any case it needs to be mounted properly.

Yes, in another part of the harness there was another bare copper wire that had been broken, I put them together and the truck runs like a champ again!
