'93 upgrading to 8.8, what years bolt on?

I have a '93 2wd with a 7.5" axle. I'm looking to swap in an 8.8 with 4.10 and trac lock. Most of the axles available in this configuration on ebay are from the next generation trucks ~ '99-'09 ish. Will these be able to bolt on? disc brakes would be nice, but not if its going to be a major pain to make the axle bolt on. Thanks for any insight!

I'm not interested in the fab work needed to make an Explorer axle work.

The problem is a trac lock 4.10 is quite rare. I've spent several days looking at the junkyards already.

I use car-part.com when looking for a lot of parts, saves time and running around. Found quite a few 4.10 L/S around me.

Thanks. I'll check that site. Any input on using a newer 98-09 axle in my '93 truck?

Direct swap. If donor has disc brakes it will be a little more work.

Thanks Tinman! What about the disc brakes makes it more difficult? Different parking brake cables? Something with the front/rear brake bias being different?

I have no first hand experience with that particular swap. The rear end itself will bolt right in. I am sure someone can give more specific information on hooking up the disc brakes.
