Do you guys think I could still get some 31's under it, without rubbing, if I did set the back height to match the front instead?

The front of yours looks like mine does now with 235s on it. It did look much better with the 265s tho, which I believe were equal to 31s

You can search tire size differences or some such, and find a calculator of sorts, simply enter the two different tire sizes, and it will give you the specific changes in diameter, circumference, revolutions per mile, etc. etc.
I found that very handy when considering changing my own tire sizes.
I believe I wound up at a michelin site or some such

I've got 235/75/15 on mine and there about 29".

Those don't do much to tell you if they'll rub in hard turns, or other real world issues that vary from car to car. I'm certain that if I'm driving in a smooth straight line, they would fit. Beyond that, I like to defer to people who have actually tried it, or at least are more familiar with a certain car/truck than I am.

As long as the front suspension hasn't sagged to bad 235/75/15 will easily fit without rubbing since that was an optional size tire for that year and being 4WD. As for 31's I cant say for sure but I imagine there would be issues if the stock suspension has sagged at all. Some one installed lift blocks into the rear for sure but camber wear on the tires can be easily cured by buying after market camber adjusters, I personally did this to prevent buying springs for the front for a while and I like the height of my seat as it is, since the factory style have a lock tab the keep them from being turned enough to adjust the camber back in to specs.

I would stay away from 31's unless the front goes up more IMO.

I used the 265s on my 93 supercab for the next 60,000 miles, and they never rubbed, in hard terrain 4 wheel drives through sand and rocks. They came with the truck, and its first chore was to move me and 4 trailer loads of shtuf for 600 miles each way.
I can assure you sir, they did very well

You might should double check to ensure the 265s and the 31s are equal, I do believe they are tho

They should be real close. I'm pretty certain it'll clear the 31's, at the front height. I'm not doing much real wheelin', but I will be dealing with a gnarly mountain dirt driveway soon. So I want to get it ready for dailying that everyday.

I'll also add this, the ones it started with when I purchased were Wrangler AT/S, lots of rugged tread, altho they also did great at 75

I hate to keep chiming in but you should check your door tag before proceeding.
Mine recommends a 265/75R/15 and if I remember correctly the tread width on the Wranglers was 9 inches.
If you get 31s with a much wider tread that could be a problem

There is a great article in the "how to tech" section that includes member photos of various trucks with different sized tires and talks about what generally fits with or without modifications. It's very informative. I believe we also have a tire size calculator available there.

The tech articles on this site are well worth reading and getting familiar with.

I would bet good money that you could run 31's on that truck with zero rub. I've owned several 93 to 97 trucks and I always run 31x10.50x15's with zero issue.

I would just embrace what you have... maybe put a fresh set of springs up front and a washer lift to level it up a bit... done... 31's and just drive it.
