okay so ive been on this website for a couple years reading through stuff when i had a problem with my previous rangers, and i decided to become a member exactly a year ago when i bought this truck. I guess its time i made a thread for it. I have a 1993 ranger stx 3.0 5 speed single cab. On the way home from buying it (80 mile drive) i overheated fasted than i could notice and before i knew it i was on the side of the highway with two blown headgaskets and a cracked head....:icon_confused: So after messing with the truck for a week i decided the heck with it and i had another 3.0 put in by a friend that is a mechanic so he says haa. That motor ran great for awhile. Soon after that the steering box started leaking badly. i wish i wouldve know how easy it was to change the o ring seal on the bottom, instead i put in a new steering box. About a month later the master cylinder for the clutch went out. So i put a new one and a new clutch in. Sometime right before or after this my front axle locked up and the 4x4 no longer works. I have taken this truck in the mud quite a few times and it was fine. But now it decided to break. A few months ago i was driving and the front passenger hub completely broke off while i was going about 10mph! while it sat in the driveway the brake calliper on that wheel seized so i replaced the hub and the break. i also rebuilt the hub on the drivers side. And last but not least i recently blew something in the motor. The oil pressure dropped and oil went all over my driveway. Atleast i was already at home lol. I swear it was the driver side head gasket because oil was coming out the side of the motor.

SO!! sorry for that huge intro. But thats the history of the last year for my truck.

This week i have slowly been starting to take the engine apart. Today i got it all the way down to the block. To my suprise the head gaskets are fine and the heads dont seem to be cracked. I checked very carefully. So im not sure what it was but im rebuilding it now haha.

Here are some pics because everybody loves pictures! and some recent ones of today if i can get them on here.

here are some pics form the teardown today:icon_thumby:
as you can see i dont know how to make the pictures normal sized. and also i dont know how the truck even ran with so much dirt in the motor!!:icon_rofl:

Oh! forgot to say im sittin on 31s that are warn down to about 28.5. I have coil spacers in the front and 3 inch blocks in the rear. I have a 6 in skyjacker susp. lift and a set of okay 35 inch maxxis buckshots sittin in the garage. That will make it to the build soon.

okay so ive realized that right now this isnt really a build thread. This is more of a history thread of what ive done to my truck. and none of it is really in order since i started the thread with the engine rebuild which is taking place right now. But this is going to turn into my build thread once im done fixing things that dont work lol:icon_thumby:

so heres some more history.
a couple months ago mt truck had a mystery fluid soaking the passenger floor board. It was kinda brown like sweet tea and smelled like swampA$$. I hadnt been mudding or offroad in awhile and my truck doesnt leek when it rains. It wasnt from the a/c or anthing like that. It was a mystery lol but here are some pictures of what the cab looked like without carpet seats or the console.

i was a bit bummed to see the floor was all ridged and bumpy because i kinda wanted to put bedliner on it. but oh well:sad:
