There is a black plastic box below/beside battery has 2 hoses one runs to back side of engine but mines not hooked up what's it supposed to hook to it's a hard plastic line..tried uploading pic but says error.
 
One end should be connected to a solenoid operated valve, the CANP, I think, the other end should connect to a chunk of rubber line that itself connects to a barbed fitting on the intake manifold. I think on the underside of the upper intake, but don't bet the farm.

So if it's disconnected would that cause an occasional jerk in constant throttle or would it not effect anything

You will have a cel And a pretty strong sputter. My 97 has that problem because the line from the solenoid to the canister is dry rotted

I have no cel but I do have the jerk quite annoying and starts hard once in awhile...guess I will buy some new line
