hey. i got a 93 4.0 auto for the last couple weeks i have had a problem with the motor over heating. wondering if any one else has the same problem. temp guage will fluctuate from 1/4 to 3/4 and motor will stay cool so long as i keep driving. tested water pump flushed rad fan blades are good no fluid loss head gaskets are good Any ideas?:shok::dunno:

You said the fan blades are good, but is it actually turning on? If not, that will definitely cause what you are describing.

if it stays cool while driving then you have airflow problems. a malfuntioned fan clutch, debris between the radiator and condenser, bent over radiator fins, etc.

or it could be the crappy ford temp gauge those are crap

yes the fan engages. dont think its the temp guage seeing as i have blown through a rad cap already from it running hot

then i would most likely say its your fan clutch if you checked all the other items
