i have a 1993 ford ranger 4x4 5spd 4.0 when you start the truck it bucks and dies if you dont hold the gas enough to keep it from dying, up until running temperature. you can smell gas fumes strong and it back fires quiet a bit. Thanks in advanced.

Has it been serviced, fuel filter changed? Engine code coming up? If you can't fix it take into a shop.

Plugs and wires is where I would start. It sounds like you have a cold miss, which is usually weak spark on just one or two cylinders.

new spark plugs and wire about a 1000 miles ago new fuel filter and oil change and oil filter less than 500 miles ago. cant find anybody to read codes advanced doesn't even have the adapter for my year ranger.

Next step would be a coil pack then. Unless that is new too.

hey guys sorry it took so long to reply. i just got the time to start working on the truck again.
update: new plugs and plug wire replaced coil pack along with sensor on side. cleaned maf sensor along with iac sensor. im at a stand still i dont know what else it would be. thanks in advanced.
