hey just double checking before i buy it, but im looking at a 93 ranger 8.8 l/s with 3.73s, would that slide right in a 85 ranger or anything i should look for?

It's 2" wider than your '85's stock axle, but yes it basically bolts right in. You may have to swap the flange on your driveshaft to mate to the 8.8"s larger pinion flange (or alternatively, you can drill it for the smaller bolt pattern, though I don't recommend it if you have the tiny 1210 u-joints).

It is wider, but the factory tires will still stay inside the fenders if that is a concern for you.
