My 93 is missing randomly mostly all the time. I can tell it most when under load. However, when I tach it up it seems to not miss as much. By Random I mean it's not consistant with any single cylinder. I have replaced the wires and plugs (all 8) and I did gap the plugs to make sure they were correct. About 3 months ago I replaced the fuel pump (it died) and about one month ago I replaced the fuel filter. Any ideas on where to start?

My 1996 Ranger was doing the same thing. I replaced the plugs and wires as you did and the check engine light finally came on. It was a coil pack that was faulty. I replaced both and now it purrs like a kitten.

When is the last time you replaced the fuel filter and air filter?

Hope this helps.
