This isn't an actual fix, but it did seem to work for me. My pump was whying and leaking (from the steering box and not the pump) but I bought a bottle of "Lucas Power Steering Sealant" and proceded to empty the resivor out a much as I could, and then add the bottle of Lucas, crank the wheels a few times, and then top off the rest with P/S fluid. My pump was whying very badly, and on the drive home I turned a corner and mid corcer it stopped making noise, for a second I thought I broke the belt or something. It still makes noise, but now it sounds like the two-year-old is four rooms down from you, instead of it sounding like Moby Dick. It still leaks a bit, but its a good tempory/cheap fix. I'll replace it when I get around to replacing the box (the pump is noisy still, but a lot quieter then what it was, and the box leaks.)
