I was looking for some parts for my Ranger, called the junkyark and asked if they had anything. He said he had a 93 explorer thats missing the front seats. He said for a couple hundred bucks I could strip it of what ever I wanted. What else should I snag? Anyone want anything? I didnt get too many details but its only a 30 mile drive.

this would have a D35 front end right?

The Dana 35 front will be a direct bolt in. However, since you have a '90 Ranger you already have a Dana 35 front; unless someone changed it.

The rear axle would be good as well.

Thats what I thought (that I had a Dana 35). My dad bought it brand new, and did not change out the front end. But I was checking it out, and the front has the 12 bolt pattern like a D28, and the axle tag says VE87A. The shop manual says the D28 has a code of E87A. What is the "V" on mine stand for?

Will the rear end being 3 inches wider affect anything?

If you have or you install the Dana 35 in the front, the rear wont be a problem. It wont be a problem if you have the Dana 28.

Got my answer. My Id tag say 610307 which is the code for a D28 out of a 88-89 ranger/BII. How the hell it ended up there is a mystery to me. Its never been wrecked, my dad owned it before me and he never had it changed. Looks like im going to Pinedale and grabbing the D35, front driveshaft, T-case, leafsprings. Hell, I might even grab the rear axle, though I would prefer one with the same width. What else should I grab?

EARLY '90's, those produced up to the end of November 1989 were
built with Dana28 axles.

overhead console? I think the 93's had one. Center console if you want it. Im looking for an overhead console so thats the first thing that came to my mind.

The rear would be a 31 spline 8.8 which is stronger than the 28 spline 8.8's they put in the Rangers. If anything someone here would pay the money you spent just for the rear axle. The only thing you would have to do to make it fit your truck is swap the spring perches. That way you would be sure to have the same gear ratio front/rear.....
