93 exploder into 85 2.8

okay i have an 85 ranger with a 2.8 carbed with a 5 speed and manual transfercase i want to swap in an 93 exploder engine with an auto and auto tranfercase my question is how do i wire up the transfercase push button and can i just splice in a connector on to the wiring to the old tank conntecions

well you got alot of work ahead of you. Im jsut now completeing the 4.0 swap into my 84 ranger. I would really suggest you just get a ranger fuel tank from an 86 or newer as you will need a high pressure fuel pump instead of your low pressure one for a carb. You will have to run all the fuel lines out of the exploder, gut the harness out thats for the exploder to make it work for the 85 (they run the engine harness w/ the body harness instead of separate like the 85). I dont think the t-case buttons run through the computer on your 85 so if they dont you wont have to mess with it otherwise im not sure what to do there.

well i got the exploder tank up there and everything and all the fuel lines up there but will only need to use the engine harness from the exploder and the will i be able to use that with the 85 under the dash and body harness
