Hello all! Heatmandan from Blue Mountain, Mississippi. recently purchased B3ooo and the fuel lnlet tube/hose needs replacing. have seen procedures for removing bed to access top of gas tank, tho the real problem is the bolts on bed. Rusted, have penetrating oil, cheater bar, but no luck. Some are going to break if I continue. Looking to remove by grinding off heads of bolts, unless, someone knows another way to replace the hose. Thanks for taking time out to help. (2 out of 6 moved easy,3 started -froze up, 1 head rusted/stripped)

In theory, it might flex enough be removable anyway. I wouldn't expect that however.

It can be done by dropping the tank out the bottom. But, I recommend just deal with the bed bolts and do it that way.

The bolts seizing up and breaking when removing the bed is common. It’s like $30-50 to buy a generic bolt set with the clips off Amazon or EBay. Personally I smear some grease thinned with oil on the bolts when they get put in to keep from going through it again. Sometimes an impact gun will get even ones that are bad out, but usually when they rust enough to seize, at least one, if not more, of the bolts will be thin somewhere and they should be replaced anyway, so if you break them, you probably needed new bolts anyway.

The bed doesn’t even have to completely come off. Pull the 6-8 bed bolts (depending on year), unplug the taillight harness (behind the rear bumper, should be a black or grey round plug), pull the gas cap and the three retain screws by the filler. Then you just have to shift the bed back, I’ve already set the bed on the back tires and back bumper, with the tailgate off the bed will balance there. That is enough room to do everything you need to including replacing the clips for the bed bolts.
