Hello all. I've been using this forum for awhile now, and get a lot of 100% good info. But now i have a silly question. Someone stole the auto hub from my 93 ranger. I have a 1990 ranger with manual Warn hubs, and i plan on changing them. Now, ive read threw the Q&A, and see its possible, and a good idea. I see everyone mentions that you need a separate conversion kit, but here is the question i have. If i have the truck, and have no need to replace the wheels on the 1990, can i not just use all the parts, without a separate kit? Are all the necessary parts not already there? Sorry if it seems a silly question, its just that i haven't seen it ask or answered, so it made me wonder. :)

Thanx a million for all your time.

You should be able to use all the parts from the other truck. I did the exact same thing with a 91 trucks manual hubs and put them on my 92 without buying any conversion kits.

Just be sure to buy the right tool to take the manual wheel nuts off and, the right tool to take the wheel nuts off the truck that used to have the auto hubs. They are different.

Its Worth buying the tools. Whacking away at it with a hammer and a screw driver is asking to damage something. Maybe your hand => Not to mention it won't work well and you probably will not be able to tighten the manual wheel nut up properly. Also you will need the tool at a later date if you need to change your rotors, wheel bearings.

They should be under 20 each. so about 40 ish in tools.

Thank You very much. That is just the confirmation i needed. Ill post again and let ya all know the results. :)

I just got back to working on this again this am, and now i find that the threads on my spinal, are a larger diameter than the one on the Warn manual hubs. lol, nothing comes simple for me. :) Is it as easy as changing the spinals now, or am i into axle conversion and such also?

OK, after some reading, i guess my question would be, "Can i take a Dana 28 spindle and bolt it up to my truck, that came with Dana 35's?"

OK, got the caliper out and measured, and found my answer. hehehe. But thanx again for the time and place to ask. :)

That's the question I was going to ask, sepcifically WHEN was your 1990 made, because up to the End of November 1989 the 1990's came with Dana28 front axles, December on
they came with Dana35 axles.

the "conversion kit" is the hub nuts which are different auto vs manual hubs.
