93 4.0 tick?

Hey guys I just a 93.ranger with the 4.0 it ticks wen cold alot when I get the.rpms up and and when I shift it makes weird noises it is a 5spd has anyone had this kinda problem? I hope its not a piston slap... Any leads would be great thanks.

Probably a lifter if it is ticking and not knocking. Having really no description of your other noise other than "weird" that would be hard to diagnose. Get an engine stethoscope and listen to the engine when it is ticking to get a better idea of where it is coming from. Also- try a can of marvel's mystery oil in the gas and oil and see if it goes away. That stuff will free up a sticky lifter in a heartbeat.
