It's 93 ranger, 2.3, 5 speed.

I know its the mazda M5OD-R1, but what years are direct swaps?

I think its 1988 to 1997.

I think the 1998 and up will work, but have to swap parts around????

Going to the junk yard later today to try and find one, so any info will be helpful.

The later model M5OD-R1 that was bolted to the 2.5 didn't have a speedometer gear on the shaft and the hole where the cable went is plugged. If you take your speedometer gear, ball bearing, and clip off of your tailshaft and swap it over to the good transmission and then bolt on your original tailshaft housing you will have no problems using it if that's the only transmission you can find.

So as pretty much 88-97 with a 2.3 and 2wd is a direct swap, the 98 up 2.5's and 2wd will work, but need to work around the speedo thing????

Sweet, thanks a bunch!!!!!!
