the oil pressure gauge on my 92 ranger has been displaying lower and lower oil pressure over the past few weeks. the gauge is showing pressure almost out of the normal range on the low side. i understand the gauge is an idiot gauge that cannot be trusted, but it is alarming. the engine is not knocking (lifters) any louder than it normally does, but i am concerned. does anyone know what the problem might be? sending unit, oil pump?
