Hey, I have had my ranger for years and years and its time to do my front ball joints. they have been loose for years and i worry that they will fail eventually.

Anyways its pretty straitforward right?

take the brake rotors/bearings off, then the spindle bolts, then hammer off the spindle... remove tie rod end from knuckle, remove the axle from the diff,... then undo the old rusted up pinch bolts and hammer the shit/use pickle fork to separate the knucle from the axle arm... then use a ball joint press to remove the old ball joints and install the new ones and re-assemble??

Is this pretty much all there is to it? oh and of course get a aligmment after putting it all back together...

Any special tools besides the ones i mentioned?

Sounds like you got a pretty good idea of what lies ahead of you!

right on.. i will have to get her done asap as there is like a 1/4? of play on my bottom ball joint :O

i have done pretty much every other ball joints on full size pickups, DODGES the most of course.. and tons of jeeps, chevy's and all sorts of cars.

Just never delt with doing them on a TTB ford front end.

Hardly any different. Just be sure to get quality joints for it (Spicer or Raybestos "Professional Grade" joints).

Also, be sure to note the position of the camber/caster bushings on the upper joints prior to breaking the knuckles loose so you can reinstall them as they were.
