92 project

Came home from work today and there was a crankshaft sitting on my porch. Got my fluid damper also, and I actually heard from the machine shop. I need 40 over pistons. Woohoo! life is good.

Since my ranger has the 3.0 with a MAF sensor and the F150 didn't have that sensor. Is there something special I need to do?

Hmm... the 3.0s may be similar. I'm not 100% sure on that. I do know that the F150 engine harness should be a pretty straightforward swap though. You'd definitely be leaving some horsepower on the table with the batch-fire setup. For more HP and better tuning capabilities, your best bet is to get a SEFI harness that came from a Mustang.

Getting pretty close

92 project

Freed the core support from the ranger. pulled the condenser, radiator, harness, ecu, y-pipe, and drained the fluids. As soon as I pick up my cherry picker I'll pull the motor and trans. Anyone interested in a recently rebuilt a4ld?

Got home today and my rods are finally here. should be able to pick up the block and start assembly end of the week. My heads came today also. Kinda pissed off, the item description said "Note: These heads accept 1982-1995 5.0 V8 pedestal mount rockers and valve train." Bullshit! the damn things are drilled and tapped for 7/16 studs.

Since the last check in I've had to send my heads back. Been laid off, and the machine shop still isn't done with my stuff. Such is life.
