92 Convertible

Ahhhhh i want to see!!!!!!!!

It can't be the same top as Zman's, his is a 3rd gen. And if its the same brand I don't think they are still around.

He has had a second generation forever. Probably has a newer one too.

I thought it was the 94 that had the funky top? Maybe I'm mistaken.

'92 convertible photos

The photos are posted here: http://coecloud.com/ranger/photos.html

The top was one piece of plexiglas and was held on by velcro straps which I'm showing with an arrow in pic 2.

I also have a shot of the label showing that it was altered by Arc Inc. Jan '92.

Appreciate any help in finding a replacement or how to go about getting another made. Thanks!

I hope you still have the old piece for use as a template. Your best bet would be a marine repair facility or a custom sign shop. I say sign shop because because plexiglass is a staple stock used for a wide variety of letters and backgrounds. Look for a shop that specializes in plexiglass or sintra fabrication. They will have the heating elements and special saws needed to fab up a replacement. You don't list your location, so I can't recomend a specific shop. Hopefully this is enough information to get you started.

Thanks 93. We're in LaGrange GA, west central and about 20 miles from AL. We do have the old piece to use as a template and I'll check into the types of shops you've recommended. I really appreciate your help.

any place that does retail displays should be able to do it. i used to work for a place here in toledo that would be able to do it for sure. i kind of doubt that it was plex as well, its just too brittle. i would think that a mar resistant polycarbonate (mar guard lexan for example) would be your best bet to be strong and not easily scuffed up. i'll warn you though, the material wont be cheap to begin with, and the fab work involved will only add to the price.

I just sent a text to my cousin asking about places that might be able to do that kind of work. He is a motor head, and he lives down near there.

EDIT: He lives by a lake there, said he'd get me some names and numbers tomorrow when he gets home.

Not really a convertible, you know? It is more like a single t-top (open top) with the back window open....I don't like it. I was expecting a real convertible... I have seen real convertible trucks and they really looked cool...but they were all low rider styles with that winged look at the rear and the bed cover enclosed and wider fender flares and huge wide tires all around. Those trucks looked really neat. I guess those day are long gone now. I go to a lot of cat and truck shows and see some really neat old trucks still.

Please tell me you aren't talking about the Chevy SSR. I almost puked at the thought that an American company could make something so disgusting.
