Howdy,

'92 4.0 with M5OD, rear axle code is "92".

Crawl't under the truck and couldn't find a drain or fill plug. Is there one? Or do you have to take the pumpkin cover off?

No drain (so you have to take the pumpkin cover off).

However there is a fill plug up top next to the pinion snout on the driver side (has a square socket for a 3/8" drive ratchet... a short extension should get you in there easier).
I suggest you break the fill plug loose first before you pop the cover that way you can't potentially end up with an empty axle and a stuck fill plug you can't get out.

That is one piece of advise I will always appreciate. Just changed the tranny oil, same thing haha

And drivers side of the pinion 'eh? That explains why I didn't see it looking from the passenger side haha thanks!

Case in point, fill plug was totally corroded in place. Guess I'll do that one another day.
