I'm putting a 00 4.0 in my 92 ranger. I know I have to change the lower intake to avoid wiring issues as well as my 92 has 2 high pressure fuel lines on the lower intake. My question is should I just change out the fuel rail and use the injectors off the 00? My old 4.0 had 305000 miles on her and the 00 has 96000. I'm thinking the 00 would be a better choice if they will fit.

Your 92 has two high pressure fuel lines? That is really strange since every return-type system I have ever dealt with had one high pressure line in and a low pressure return.

I would use the older rail and injectors. The returnless systems run a higher pressure and that will affect the way the injectors do their thing. Using the later injectors could give you an unsuitable spray pattern, but using a returnless rail will cause issues as well.

Yes ^^^ +1

The '92 flywheel/flexplate will attach to crank with 6 bolts, '97-'00 will be 8 bolt, so get flywheel/flex plate with the '00, or you will have to buy one.

Flywheel = manual trans
Flexplate = automatic
