ok i have a 92 "sport" ranger 4wd. single cab short box. my stock muffler is rotting away and i need a replacement.

i want to cut off my muffler and about six inches of pipe and replace it with a shorter, more agressive sounding muffler.

i also want to exit it at ninety degrees before my rear tire.

what muffler with what size inlet/outlet will help me achieve an agressive sound?

thank you and happy holidays!

that does help some...but it really boils down to your taste, & how fat your wallet is.

there is a Exhaust section here at TRS....you maybe better served if this was posted there. http://www.therangerstation.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=45

i would go with a flowmaster or a magnaflow. I personally like the magnaflow better

If you still have the CAT on the truck, then I personally prefer no muffler.

I put a cherry bomb turbo muffler on mine and liked it. It wasn't too loud but defenitely sounded a lot better than stock. I don't rember for sure on the size, but it did use a smaller size outlet than inlet as the intermediate pipe was I think 2.5 inches. HTH

I put a Cherry Bomb Turbo on mine too. Gives it a quiet idle and nice tone when you stomp on it. Mine has 2.5" inlets and outlets.

i too got the cherry bomb turbo. they are less than $20 at autozone and it sounds good... not too loud but has a good tone. mine is 2 1/4 and stops at the muffler

I have a 2 1/4" in/out Flowmaster 40 series on my Bronco II, with my tailpipe exiting at 90 before the tire. I love it, but it could be just a little loud for some. It's got a nice aggressive tone when you jump on it and the idle sounds great too. Ran me about 70 bucks and it was worth it.
