Hey everyone, I'm changing my timing belt, and it seems that the crankshaft pulley has 4 small nuts holding it on??? I thought it was supposed to have a super tight, large , single bolt holding it on. What gives?

Good read here for timing belt replacement:

Yes, there could be 4 smaller bolts/nuts holding the pulley to the Hub, the Hub is held on the crankshaft with 1 larger bolt and of course the woodruff key.
Some do remove the pulley separately then remove the Hub, up to you really.
But the hub does need to come off.

What size crankshaft pulley bolt?

Do I need a deep socket, or regular,:icon_confused: or regular with a short extension???

pulley

regular socket and a short extension a long ass beaker bar or a really good impact gun, and a few beers, wear gloves there some times a real pain to get the nut loose, and card board the radaitor to prevent damage, while working on it

Or you can hold on tight to your breaker bar and have someone bump the key.
