My 91 Ranger with 3.55 gearing and 235/75/R15 tires is reading too fast of speed.
But the odometer reading is reading less miles.
On my 90 ranger with larger tires I thought I remember the speedo and the odometer agreeing with each other at reading slower and less miles?
However if I calculate the error they seem to agree, just one is too fast and the other too slow.
Is this correct and I just have a bad memory? Plus I have changed the speedometer pinion/VSS unit, and this made no difference. The current pinion is a 19tooth. Anyone know what the factory tooth count is for 3.55 gearing, as I bought this vehichle used and not sure if the previous owner may have changed the pinion, or maybe swapped in a new t-case?
