Can you take the whole rear end leaf springs and all out of a 91 ranger and put it in an 88 bronco 2

The spring pads are at slightly different spots. About an inch in or out, I can't remember. Also the total width is different, the 91 is wider.

I believe my esteemed colleague has it reversed...the Bronco II axle is 1-5/8" wider on passenger side; not sure if the pads are off by same or not.

Thinking back on it, I believe you're right. After swapping axles I remember the drivers side rubbing when it never did before. I kept the pads even and welded spacers to locate the springs and u-bolts. But the axle came out of an 87 STX HiRider. I will see if I can find the build thread.
