I have a 1991 ranger with a 6inch bds lift, rides like a brick was wondering if i can put 8inch xj coils under it, i heard they are soft coils so I'm hoping the 8inch would drop down close to the 6inch lift. Also thinking about doing billstein 5100 for the Gravel roads? I will take all the info I can get from you guys

6" jeep cherokee xj coils might not be soft. how much does your truck weigh? if i remember right, an xj weighs around 3200lbs. i had an xj with 5 inches of lift and it rode like a cadillac but if your truck is lighter, it won't work out to ride smoother, i imagine

I used 8"-ish XJ coils on my B2 doing the same that Will did. Street manners were not great, I wouldn't recommend it for something daily driven

I could be wrong but if I remember right my truck stocks is like 4100. But with the lift and 33s I'm not sure

Thank you, how did it effect it on the road, bad bump steer?

How much lift did the 8" coils give you?

FYI...

I moved this to the 4wd suspension forum.

Carry on...

About 6" - I had gone from a 6" Skyjacker lift to those coils and didn't have any noticeable change in ride height
