91 Ranger Danger with blown tranny.

I have just gotten my first ever Ford and my first Ranger ranger with a damn near spotless body and frame. It’s a 1991 ranger 2.9L 4x4 automatic. The bad is the trans is shot shot. I’m looking to see which transmissions are interchangeable with this one. I’m currently looking at a A4LD transmission came from a 4x4 also but it’s off a 1994 4.0 engine. Will these two transmission swap out easy plug and play. Bolt pattern the same? 2.9-4.0.

Yes, 2.9l and 4.0l used the same block so transmission bolt pattern is the same
And yes, if the A4LD is 4x4 version it can be used with your 2.9l 4x4
