about four weeks ago my oil pump tube got clogged with a dry rotted gasket so i took it off and replaced it. still leaks but now its knocking but i cant figure out which it is. i think its a rod bearing. i took video so any help will be greatly appreciated.https://youtu.be/ZRAjpcHVdek&fs=1" width="644" height="390">https://youtu.be/ZRAjpcHVdek&fs=1" />https://youtu.be/ZRAjpcHVdek">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=https://youtu.be/ZRAjpcHVdek

Unhook intake side spark plugs(coil)
Start engine
With engine idling and knock being heard
Unplug one spark plug wire, on exhaust side, at a time, yes engine will miss, but if knock goes away then that cylinder is the one with spun rod bearing, if knock doesn't go away then it isn't a rod bearing noise.

Rod bearing makes the "knock" sound when that cylinder fires, just before firing the crank has started to pull the rod/piston down, this leaves a gap between rod and crank.
Firing causes these two metal parts to SLAP together, that's the "knock" noise.
If you stop cylinder from firing, knock stops as well.

alright thanks for the reply. i will try that in the morning. i was in the middle of doing a compression test on the cylinders today but i left my keys in the ignition and went to oreilly's to get the ford adapter(i got a ride) and when i came back battery was dead. tried jumping it with my wifes car but the damn battery wont charge. are jumper cables supposed to have resistance? it was only 1 ohm but that might be the cause of the battery not charging. anyways thank you RonD and will let you know what i find tomorrow
