Hi,

I've got a '91 3.0. I am replacing the oxygen sensor; got it loose just fine.

I can't see where the wire goes...it just seems to be "up there" but I can't tell where.

Any help in locating the connector is greatly appreciated.

Thanks much. Great forum BTW.

Just had a thought: although it's a Ford part I installing maybe I could just splice the old wiring to the new sensor wiring?

There are 2 black wires and 2 white wires. Are they interchangeable black to black and white to white? I assume the splices wouldn't interfere with the voltage readings the computer needs.

Thanks much.

Welcome Eagle23.

Although you could 'probably' splice the wires,
you'd also need to solder them to get a secure
connection.

Since this is a Ford part and specific to your model,
it's best to plug it into the existing socket. Measure
the length of the pigtail on the sensor, and you can
estimate where the plug-in will be. You might have to
remove the plastic inner fender well for access, but that's
much easier than trying to splice wires. The fenderwell panel
is just held in with push pins; very easy to remove.
