just bought it yesterday. noticed that it has the twin i-beam set up in the front but its leaf spring instead of coil springs. does anyone know if I can just throw a soild axle under it, bolt it up and go or is there a bunch of shit i need to swap out. i can get a D60 front for cheap at the u-pull it yard. so i'd like to go solid axle

It'll be easier for you to do a sas but it never is just a bolt in affair.

The only chllenges

that might pop up is spring perch location and steering linkage I'd do it theres a f 250 around here that started out as 2 wheel drive the owner put a D60 up front with the stock coils and buckets if that can be done yours SHOULD be doable. check spring perch location first off and go from there.:icon_welder:

That's interesting, I always thought that only the F150's were TTB's. Didn't realize F250's were too.

80-97/8 (whenever you want to call the end of that run) F-250's were TTB D50's, leaf sprung. 80-85ish F-350's also had the D50 TTB.

I have never done it but I have heard a SAS on them is pretty much bolt in.

It is basically a bolt in however you will want to switch the springs out or it will ride like a dump truck TTB springs are 50% stiffer than solid axle rigs

ya i figured change the springs and throw a D60 under it and go!. thanks for all the info guys.... hey kryptonite....when are we gonna meet up? I still wanna see your rig probably as much as you wanna see mine.
