Hey guys, I've got a question that hopefully is a simple one. My dash light dimmer switch is out and has been since I bought the truck. Recently it's been a pain in the ass so I decided to try and pull it apart and fix it and in my usual fashion made things worse. Now I have no dash lights and now my aftermarket stereo acts up with the headlights being turned on and off. I assume the stereo is probably because it may be hooked up to the stock dimmer wire for power, that ones 31st enough for me.

My main question is, what are all of the pin outs in the headlight switch? I plan on just hooking up the dash lights to either a keyed power source or just to the headlights power source wire. I played with it for a bit and found that the brown is headlight power in and red/yellow is switched power but when I wire what I think is the dash lights switched power wire to that it only worked until I was sure I had it right at which point it promptly stopped working and started causing the stereo issue. I assume this is just because of the way the circuits are run through the switch so I'd rather just know what each one does and splice a connection or two. Thanks for your help.

Also the cut blue wire is the one I think is the switched dash power but clearly I could be wrong. Life sucks without a multimeter on hand.

Red/Yellow should be power in, brown is marker lights, blue/red (the cut wire in your picture) is you dash lights.

That's all I remember off the top of my head.

I found this. Does this look correct?

Thank you

Yeah.

I knew red/yellow was power into something, I just had the wrong switch.

So if I were to splice the blue one to the y/bk ign that should power them on full time when the key is on correct?

Sorry for my basic questions. Electrical is an elusive creature to me.
