I've owned Fords since high school.
In 2000 I bought a '91 Explorer XLT 4.0 4x4. I've put over 100k on it with only minor issues, not counting the times I brought it on myself. Like towing a U-Haul trailer in O/D, A4LD. Duh. That one left me stranded on I-84, just south of Pendleton, Or. at 3am, freezing cold, with my dog, a woman and her 2 kids. Fun times !!
Anyway, just last month I bought a Ranger, it's a '94 super cab 2WD , with 3.0 V6, 4 spd w/OD manual tranny. 105k.
I've put just over 1k miles on it, and already I'm finding out about its little aches and pains. The usual things, like vibrating heat shield/cat. conv., funky headlight lens, factory am/fm stereo cass. went bad, etc...
I'm losing oil and water. The water I see leaking out from underneath the radiator, but the oil is a mystery. Very small leak around the timing chain/head gasket area, but not enough(I think) to explain the amount going out. No signs of oil any where else, like the dipstick, breather cap, tail pipe area, visual clouds of smoke, blow-by, and the drip pan underneath is clean.
