I have a 91 4x4, 2.9L with a A4LD. I bought it with a bad tranny which at the time I didnt care about because I plan on swapping a '74 bronco drive train I have had laying around. My imediate plans have changed an I could use the truck right now so hears the problem. The trans takes for ever to shift between gears. After about 4-5 miles the engine starts loosing power and 45 mph is about all I can get out of her. I dont mind swapping in a different trans or even rebuilding if necessary but i am concerned it comboination of both the trans and the engine and I dont know if I want to go down that road. I still plan on the swap so this is a temporary solution. Any thoughts?
