what the thread pitch/size on the bolts that hold it to the trans? :icon_confused: The holes are all stripped and was looking to heli-coil the holes.:icon_twisted:

10 150 maybe. its been a while. wait i think there smaller, like 8mmx150

i can look under the truck tomorrow at work

They should be M10-1.50.
They did have 3/8nc threads at one time and no one can seem to find proof as to when they changed or why some are different.
Curious, What size wrench fits the bolt that are on it?

Early 1350's had a 3/8 UNC thread that I know of, and took a 9/16 wrench. I believe later 1350's used a M10x1.5 thread, that took a 13mm wrench. To my knowledge (but I could be wrong:D) no 1354's came with the std thread......

Ah but, What is the cut off between early and late?
I asked him the wrench size because if someone used the 3/8 bolts where there should have been m10s that is a good reason why they stripped.:icon_thumby:

Ahh...good point.

My old 85 B2 was the standard thread, and i'm pretty sure my '87 was the metric thread (but don't quote me on that, it's been a while since I had the tranny out of that one:D)

Wrench size would definitely narrow it down........

I've got a pile of used 1350s, They all have the sae thread. I've changed many transmissions at work and for friends that were metric. The last time this topic came up, the general concensus was that they were all metric.
This is one little tidbit of trivia that someone should actually research.

My '85 1350 is standard with 1/2" bolt heads, as is the '84 1350 I have. The '89 1350 and both 1354's are metric.

I would bet 86 or 88 was the change over since I know someone else who ran into that swapping cases in his 88.

My guess is '86. IIRC, that's when the electric versions of the case became available.
