the other day i was cruising doing 85 down the highway when my truck lost all power, also it started over heating horibbly, so far ive changed the thermostat and radiator cap. next is the water pump. the truck is a 91 ford ranger 3.0. Is there anything that im missing? will the water pump help? please and thanks

is there any milkshake in the oil? steam in the exhaust? does it go put put?

often times the fuel filter clogs and causes a loss of power and can cause it to run lean wich causes overheating but if you have any of the above symptoms wich i suspect you probably will then its either a blown head gasket or a crack in the head or block

I would think its either what he said, but if it is the water pump it would make the world of difference. The fins in the pump can and probably will eventually corrode thus no pumping coolent.
