90 Ranger No Fuel

Ok truck is a 1990 Ford Ranger 2.9. No CEL. Battery died and sat for 4 days. I jump it today and she turns over but chokes out and dies immediately. I try for another 15 minutes and finally am able to keep it alive for a few minutes. When I depress gas pedal it wants to stall when I let off the pedal it revs up sometimes to 3k. I peaced out and I'm at work. I never had this problem before the battery died. Could the two be related or just random as hell? Clogged fuel filter, injectors...pump?

Could be the fuel pump. But i would check the fuel filter they are fairly cheep.

A shorted battery will drive you nuts, try a known good battery, when I was turning wrenches on Benzes, we had and '07 ML350 that acted like the whole vehicle was on an emergency flasher, engine, lights everything... Vroom.....Vroom.....Vroom..... replaced the battery, all was good with the Benz...
