90 m5od from a 2.9 be good behind a 4.0 sohc? i would try the 146 but dont feel like changing the trans later.

I think it'll be fine as far as handling the power, the only thing is whether that one (offset) bellhousing bolt would be an issue. It doesn't seem to be when hooking a SOHC trans to an OHV motor, if the reverse is also true, then you should be fine. It'll be miles ahead of putting a FM146 behind it.

Yeah, works fine. Heck, there was a guy on another board for explorers that ran an m50d from a 4.0 ohv behind a sohc motor, and ran the ohv's computer and wiring harness on the new motor, plus turbocharged it.

The 1 bolt wont be an issue. I've got over 20k miles on my SOHC / 4r55e setup. Never had an issue with the "missing" bolt. I dont see how it would be any different for a SOHC /m5od combo.

very cool...and do you think the sohc will fit with ohv motor mounts in a ttb style suspension? and do you think the manifolds and y pipe will fit with the ttb suspension as well?

The OHV motor mount brackets will bolt to the SOHC block and bolt right in.

The manifolds should fit with no problem, but the y-pipe may need some mods to clear the front driveshaft.
