9" Posi ID

hey.. I heard on fsb.com that you cant tell if a 9" is locked or not from just locking at the carrier. is this true?

Well, I've never played with the 9" much, but I can't think of how you'd see the LS components. If you have the whole axle just try spinning one of the wheel ends, if the pinion moves, its not an open rear.
