I think my factory Amp in my 89 bii went. The radio plays but at a whisper. It has premium sound.

Can anyone tell me where I can find where the amp is in the truck ??

Can anyone tell me what other ford amps are a direct swap ??

Thats odd, my service manuals list no amp for your truck. Thats odd because the premium sound radio is an option and that radio requires an amp.

Can you pull the radio and post the ford part number? The premium part # for your truck should be E95F 19B165 BB, if its different I need to know.

In all my years working on car audio, I dont ever remember seeing an amp in a Bronco II.

I'll look up 87 and 88 tomorrow and see what I can find.

The 1988 service manual does list an amp option but it lists no location. Also the only amp it lists is a two channel. There were no four channel amp options for that truck.

Because its a two channel only the front speakers would have been hooked to the amp, this is normal for older Fords with two channel amps. Also this amp is small, it could easily fit anywhere.

The picture below is a four channel version. Both the two and four channel amps are identical in size and shape

If you can post the part number of your factory Ford Radio, I might be able to find more info

Found the AMP

The radio part number is E9SF-19B165-BC
IBO87373

The AMP was located behind the left panel at the cargo area.

I was looking at the 4WD eletronics piece of which was broken also ( a capaceter was laying loose in the unit.

The AMP is a E9VF 18T805 AA

There dosent look like anything is bad inside the AMP.

I will be able to get to a junk yard in about two weeks and look for a new one.

I will also try Crutchfield tomorrow.

Thanks for the help.
