Don't pass that deal up.

buy it and swap everything over throw a 1354m in it and call it good. you might be able to retain your interior wiring dash and what not.

Psst...Ill take the interior on it :P

I really dont want to swap the dash, Could the 4.0 swap work with my 89 dash? I would really like something that is basicly plug and play. I think the 91-93 explorer is basicly the same as my 89?

it'll be alot more work with the ranger v.s. the explorer. but if the deal is good enough? not sure on the interior as i swaped it all. but i know alof of ppl have done the swap and were able to retain the interior.

well, i told the guy i will pass on it. I would like to have something more plug and play. I will just keep looking for an exploder... It killed me to pass up a good deal but i dont want to buy it if i cant use it.

91-92 explorer is plug and play, 93-94 explorer, while still OBDI, has some wiring differences, mainly updated and added circuits...

it can be done. there's just more work involved. placement of the computer and power distribution block took awhile. the wiring was acctually pretty easy. we just had alot of work due to swapin into a carbed vehicle.

It looks like I will keep an eye out for a 91-92 explorer. There has to be some around here, they made tons of them.

Since your not half way around the country or across the states from me, I'll keep an eye out and let you know if I find or hear something :icon_thumby:

Besides all the what's been going on, I have replaced the oxygen sensor that I got cheap off ebay, and finally got the electric fan installed.

The fan off a 90's camaro $5 from my brother

Fan temp switch in an adapter in lower radiator hose. Temp switch got from AutoZone for $3 and the adapter off ebay $12.

A three way switch. Auto/Off/On $free

Works pretty good for less than $21. The new oxygen sensor should help on the gas mileage and make run a little better.

Hey, sure. That would be awesome. Thanks

I did see on CL by Indy a 92 explorer for 600$ Hope the person gets back with me. Sometimes dealing with people on Craigslist can be a pain

good thing with an explorer over a ranger donor is more weight when it goes to the scrapyard for more on returning your investment....I'd grab the rear axle while your at it, it's a 31 spline and more than likely an LS, sell some parts, scrap the rest :icon_thumby:
