89 Ranger 2.3L engine dies when cold. Is there anything i can do to keep this from happening.

My 94 does the same thing, just when cold. I cleaned the IAC and it runs like a champ. Another thing it could be is a vaccumm leak?

its the idle air control valve and it should be attached to your throttlebody somewhere

ASE or not thanks for the help

if you can get a new gasket for it, remove it and clean it with electrical cleaner or carb cleaner. cleaning does not always work sometimes it needs to be replaced.

I just ooked it up on your older truck it might be called an air bypass valve
