89 honda accord batt/charging system prob.

so my buddy has a 89 honda accord dx 5 spd, he just got it it has been sitting for a while but the owner just bought a new battery. he drove it for a few days and it was fine, then last night it started dying, it wouldnt start and we were able to push start it but it died again, like the alternater wasnt able to recharge the battery, i think it is the alternator because even after jumping it it did the same thing after driving for a bit. any input from anybody?

Sounds like a good possibility. Most auto part stores will test them for free. You can also test them yourself with a multimeter.
