i just bought the truck i fixed all the problems except the 4x4 won't work. i'm at a loss here. i have checked the motor it works fine i push the buttons on the dash and i hear a click the another click shortly after the first click. i have checked the brain it flashs ok with the five wire and eight wires removed. i have checked all fuses they are good. i,m leaning towards a ground. in the book i have where is the g386 wire start at? any and all help would be great..

Have you cleaned the contacts on the shift motor? it sounds like your motor is "lost" does not know what position it is in which will go into a default mode and will not let it shift into high or low. How do you know the shift motor is good did you hook 12v up to the motor and get it to turn. if so i would clean the contacts the is a write up in the tech library on how to do this.

i have applied 12 volt power to motor and cleaned contacts and still nothing any oter ideas? i've omhed the wires they seem fine but to test voltage i lose it after brain box to motor ? i running out of ideas HELP!!!!!!

will it not go into neither high and low or will it go into one but not the other? does the lights light on the push button light up when you press either one. the clicks are most likely your relays in the controller and the other click sounds like it is going into gear. you can hear mine click twice.. you will not have power from the controller to the motor until the the button is mashed for high or low it will most likely take 2 people to check that. after you hear the clicks have you tried 4wd. put it on jack stands and put it in gear or with it in park try and see if you can turn the front driveshaft.

it will not go into ethier one high or low none of the light turn on also i will try to put it on jack stands later but the front driveshaft turn free on the ground as far as clicks i hear one to try to go and the less then a second it cliks again then abou 30 secs later you hear a third click?????? not sure what that is have you ever pulled your carpet up to follow wires i did today and found no breaks that i could see i loosen my mind
