First off, 89 blocks are supurb-cast blocks and are roller blocks(as in, those 2 little spots in the windage tray area are already tapped for the spider hold-down). Problem is, the cam that's in there now is very, very mild. On top of that, it's a speed-density setup, which means, you don't have a MAF sensor, which means that power add-ons don't register with the computer(cold air intake, exhaust, etc.), it just runs a constant straight line.
Now, what I did with mine, I got the engine harness/computer from a Mustang 5.0 (one with a MAF sensor) and used that with a Trickflow Stage 1 cam. A very nice setup with lots of power and a nice idle loop. Although since you're running an automatic, a Mustang computer setup from an automatic would be wise.
As far as wiring goes, you're gonna need the whole engine harness from the donor vehicle, and I think there's only 8-10 wires to mess with. Unfortunately, I do not know which wires those were since I did not do the wiring.
