K got 89 bii drvr frnt hub was cracked andmissing a chunk. Bought new hub and go to slide it on and it wont seat with the hub assembly flush almost then when i push it in flush its like spring loaded and pops out like a half inch. Other side doesnt will this damage anythng if i just put the wheel on?

Pretty common. You just need to reach behind the knuckle and rotate the axle shaft when slipping them on. Usually does the trick. Sometimes just pulling it back off and rotating it one stud in either direction will let it slide on too.

is what i always do... usually you just gotta get it to line up w/ where it came off. being a different hub you may have to do the first method mentioned tho. no worries, but i wouldn't force it on...
