'89 Bronco II 4.0L Build

Yeah, it was such a good deal that I jumped on it as fast as I could. I'm hoping to make my money back selling parts I don't need before sending it to the scrap yard.

What condition are the seats in? might be interested in some interior parts. Looks like maybe it's the light brown interior?

The seats are actually in pretty good condition (only the center arm rest seems broken), but it is the red interior.

Sorry for the lack of updates, but we've been busy working on it every weekend. This last weekend we completed the following:

• Finished all of the wiring between the Explorer and B2 harnesses
• Installed the radiator, fan, shroud
• Air filter box and intake
• New spark plugs
• Oil change
• Trans fluid change
• T-case fluid change
• Air filter
• Fuel filter
• New battery
• Cut up the old ranger Y-pipe just to get an O2 sensor plugged in

Then we added some Sea Foam to the tank and gave it the old college try. She fired up pretty easily and we were able to let it idle until it got up to temp. There's still a lot of little things that need to be done, but that was a big milestone for my son to see it running.

I've ordered an new B2 Y-pipe and will need to install that and piece together an intermediate pipe to the muffler. The clutch still needs some bleeding work and the pedal bushings need some lube or replaced. When you push the clutch in, it also moves the brake down enough to trip the lights. Also need to check the AC for leaks and charge it. That's just to name a few. This hasn't been licensed since 2019, so I'm sure a lot of little issues will pop up as it gets driven.

Question: the '89 2.9L has a MAP sensor. The '91 Explorer 4.0 did not have a MAP, but there is a MAP connector on the harness. Why is there a connector and should I plug it in to the Bronco's MAP?

91 4.0 used the MAP sensor without a hose hooked up as a barometric pressure sensor. That was dropped by 92. I have a 91 harness and 92 PCM that seems to not care about the sensor either way.
