when the car heats up and the motor has ran for awhile it starts dragging It wont go over 30mph with petal to the floor and runs hard. replaced fuel pump annd filter. tune up, dont know whats wrong. oh, and cleaned the converters out. any clues???

Tested the TFI module?
Pulled the codes?
How do the plugs look? Black? White?
Whats the fuel pressure at when it's running crappy?

Tfi

Your ICM is overheating guarnteed. You can do a remote mount that will prevent it in the future. Having the icm mounted on the distributor was one of fords most regretable decisions. I think this forum has a step by step remote mount breakdown.

Oh, where is that, I want to try it.

All you have to do is mount the TFI elsewhere, then run some wires from the TFI to the dizzy. There are writeups all over the net

I might have to do that. Even if its just for the increased ease of replacement.

Seems like everyone is havin this problem lately, including me. Going to try to get to this weekend. If anybody has a link for the remote placement, it would be greatly appreciated.
