Hey guys... so I recently acquired an 86 F150 XLT FI302 2WD Auto... Originally I was going to restore the truck but the more I thought about it I have decided to make 1 project out of 2. Rather than rebuild my 2.9L and tranny I might as well rebuild the 302 and swap it into my BII. The only thing I'm not too sure about is the tranny. They are both OD trannys but my BII is 4WD. For now I will be keeping the stock axles. I want to have it back on the road by end of April. Will it just be a matter of bolting my transfer case to the V8 tranny with the right adapter kit (assuming there is one)??

Mods, sorry if i put this in the wrong forum. I just noticed there is a transmission forum.

You can use it, I wouldn't... I don't really see a reason to pay that much when you could just use a full-size case, or an NP205 I believe should fit between your frame rails without any mods...

i hear what you are saying but i don't want to add more work than there is already going to be...

The only extra work is swapping for a 4x4 tranny and bolting up the t-case... It's your project though...
