Don't knw exactly what it is called but the little plate with nut on it holding base of spring. Fighting this for 2 days. What's the trick to get off and what is the exact size of the nut. Have to go buy a deep socket for it. Thank for any input

I don't know the exact nut size I know it was large 1" maybe larger I just changed mine out about a month ago. The secret trick to get them off is to get a really long extension or like me 3 extensions together and slide it in the top and pull like hell. I would soak it in pb blaster or wd40 just to help with getting through the rust. There really is no easy way to do it, but it wasn't that bad as long as you have a large ratchet that can take the pressure you'll be fine. I ended up breaking two ratchets because I was using small harbor freight ratchets and a pipe slide over the end.

I use a 1-1/8 combo wrench. When it's extended clear down you have to jack it back up straight to get a socket down through the middle. The wrench just seems easier to me.

the actual size is 1-1/8"th

Thanks for the info goin to go get socket 2mrrw and give it another go

Thanks again

Get a deep well if you get the socket. I use a wrench too. Works well for me

Those suck sometimes.... I had to use a torch and a 3/4 drive impact gun one time. Most of the time a wrench from the side, through the spring works.

I use a socket with an extension on a breaker bar. I can reach it through the top of the spring bucket.

Ya just rounded two extensions out. Got a wrench goin to try in a bit
